There are many studies about the relationship between the subject and the personal trait but there are no certain research that study about relationship between elective subjects and personal trait such as personalities, studying style etc. Because of this reason, I strongly felt the necessity of the research about it and decided to precede the research.
The first step of the study is getting results of question investigation. The subject of study is limited to the student of international course for correct generalization. The content of it can be categorized to largely three parts: basic information, person, MBTI test, and Kolb learning style test. First, basic information is needed to know about sex, class, elective subjects that they chose, interesting subject etc. Second, the MBTI test (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is the officially acknowledged test that can figure out one’s personality by several questions. It can determine the person is whether introvert or extrovert, active or passive, etc. Third, the Kolb learning style test is the test that can know about the style of studying. For example, it can classify a person who likes proving the theory alone or talking about the topic with other peoples deeply.
After collecting such information through investigation, the result needs to be written on the excel sheets so that a computer can categorize them as the form of a table that person can read it conveniently. Also, the result needs to be written in number because it’s the only way that a computer can recognize. After organizing the result of data, several programs, such as “Python” and “Pandas” need to be installed on the computer. By using a command prompt called “cdm.exe”, “Pandas” can be executed by importing the excel file of the data. This program can only recognize the relationship between two factors and express the degree of relationship in number.
By this process, I can get information about the relationship between the elective subjects and sex, interesting subject, personalities, studying style, etc. The most logical and definite relationship will be created between elective subjects and interesting subjects. If someone is interested in science or math, the possibility of choosing physics and chemistry will be increased. Also, if someone is interested in social studies, history, or literature, the possibility of choosing world history, ethical ideology, comparative culture, and psychology. Also, I believe personalities can have a certain relationship with elective subjects. If someone has an introvert personality, the possibility to choose psychology, ethical ideology, and world history would increase because those studies are based on accepting and understanding theories and facts. On the other hand, if someone has an extrovert personality, the possibility to choose chemistry or biology would increase because they are based on an experiment and verify a certain theory. Such as these expectations, I strongly believe that the research would draw completely innovative results and they can be applied to many study method or curriculum.
